Goodbye Cold!

It’s that time of year where we say goodbye to the cold and hello to longer days, colorful flowers, and spending more time outdoors. With this change in season, it is important to make sure your home is ready as well. We have compiled a list of important items to cross off your list for this upcoming season.

  1. Check it out. First things first, you will want to look around your property for any types of repairs that may be needed. For example, chipped paint, damage to the roof, and detached downspouts. The winter elements can be hard on homes, so examining your property is necessary.

  2. Is something burning? It is crucial to have working smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors in your home at all times. A fire extinguisher is great to have on hand for those outdoor barbecues and bonfires.

  3. Speaking of barbeques… Spring time calls for outdoor parties- like a good ole fashioned barbeque! Prepping your outdoor space by removing weeds, cleaning the grill, putting extensions on your downspouts (if needed), and adding new mulch will make your yard picture perfect! Be sure to examine your deck as well since it may need a new coat of sealant after the harsh winter weather.

  4. When did all that get here? Ah, gutters- the quiet culprit. We all know the phrase “Spring showers bring May flowers,” but those flowers won’t look as pretty if the excess rainwater ruins your landscaping. Taking the time to clean out your gutters will save you a lot of headache in the long run.

  5. I miss when it was cold. Odds are you probably don’t. Your A/C just isn’t working properly. Having a certified technician service your A/C unit every spring is key to making sure you have cool air on those high heat, high humidity days.

  6. Give it a good scrub. Break out that pressure washer and go to town! Simply pressure washing your home’s exterior, deck, or concrete driveway can make a huge difference. This home refresh is simple and effective for catching any defect that may need to be fixed for the spring season.

  7. Get in those nooks and crannies. Of course, cleaning the interior of your home is always a great way to enter the season. Dusting ceiling fan blades, air vents, and cleaning baseboards are three key spots that collect dust but are often overlooked.

Now that you have that all done, grab yourself an ice cold drink and enjoy the sunset happening later than 4:30 p.m.
